Introduction
Two Voices III/Horticulture Behind the Scenes is an exhibition of colour photographs of horticulture at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, taken by me. Again, my photographs are accompanied by raised interpretations created by Camilla. The audio commentary has been produced by Sound Artist, Chris Dooks. Braille and large-print documentation is also available, making the exhibition accessible to all.
The Exhibition is the latest in my Two Voices series and celebrates the ‘behind the scenes’ work of the RBGE Horticultural Department with special emphasis on the Nursery and Glasshouse environments.
I hope to see you there!

Back Stage at the Traverse
Ran from: Tuesday, 16th September to Saturday, 25th October, 2008
Where: Traverse Theatre Bar-Cafe, 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh.
This was the third exhibition celebrating the collaborative work of Edinburgh based artists Rosita McKenzie and Camilla Adams.
Back Stage was an individual look at areas of the Traverse that are not always open to the public.
In total, there were 16 photographs in the Exhibition. Each photographic image had a complementary tactile interpretation, hanging immediately below it which visitors were encouraged to touch.
The images presented, revealed an enticing glimpse of life ‘backstage’ at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh and a privileged insight into activity that sustains all its dramatic productions. For instance, visitors discovered the laundry or ‘Steamy’, the Green Room and the Wardrobe as well as a backstage corridor with a discarded space hopper, hydroponics light on the set of a recent production, a props table and an image depicting the door to the stage itself.
I was inspired to create these images in 2007, after Camilla and I took part in a tour of the Traverse Theatre premises.
The notion of creating backstage images fitted so well with my general approach of: ‘revealing the common-place’, it was totally irresistible. So, with Camilla’s enthusiasm matching my own, our ‘Backstage’ Project was born.
As with all of our work, it aimed to widen audience participation by offering another dimension to the exhibition experience.

TemptationDenied
Collaborating once more with Camilla and David, My exhibition entitled: ‘Temptation Denied’ opened on Saturday, 16th February, 2008 at the Portobello Community Centre, 3 Adelphi Grove, Portobello, Edinburgh EH15 1AP, Tel: 0131 669 8275.
Temptation Denied was created as a photographic map of my local High Street. The Exhibition revealed the shop-fronts and window displays that are not accessible to me and which represent powerful social, psychological and emotional barriers to me as a blind female.
